THE IRISH PREMIERE OF CARRIE THE MUSICAL

The CIT Musical Society is proud to present the Irish Premiere of CARRIE The Musical.

The CIT Cork School of Music Curtis Auditorium will be theatrically brought to life over three evening performances from Thursday 19th February to Saturday 21st February.

Tickets are priced at €10 (concession) and €15 (standard) and are available online now: events.cit.ie

CARRIE The Musical is a thrilling and engaging retelling of Stephen King’s classic thriller novel Carrie.  It tells the story of Carrie White, a teenager from a small town in New England, who is relentlessly bullied at school for being different and is harshly controlled at home by her  fanatical mother.

This story is a fairy tale of adolescence and understanding. In a fleeting moment of happiness, Carrie dreams of what her life could become, but the cruelty of her classmates unleashes a terrifying power that will change the lives of all that have hurt her.

The CIT Musical Society is ecstatic to have been granted special permission to present the Irish Premiere of this revised and revitalized version of CARRIE The Musical.

Under the direction of award winning director Joseph C. Walsh (Hairspray, The Cork Opera House), and musical direction by the talented Michael Young (Irish Premiere, When Midnight Strikes, Belltable Theatre), this promises to be a unique and exciting production that hopes to bring the audience closer to the action than ever before.

The cast is led by Cork’s own Jean Elliot Murphy, as Carrie’s fanatical mother, Margaret White. The role of Carrie White will be played by first year BA in Theatre and Drama Studies student Madeleine Webb, who will be making her debut with the CIT Musical Society.

The production is made even more special, as it consists of students from across all the Cork Institute of Technology campuses, working alongside industry professionals in both onstage and backstage roles. This is a theatrical event not to be missed.

“It’s gonna be a night you’ll never forget!”
