An exhibition by a group of students in third year of the BA Hons. Fine Art course at MTU Crawford College of Art & Design. Exhibiting a collection of new work, supported by curator Eamonn Maxwell, (CCAD) tutors - Colin Crotty, Collette Nolan and Marilyn Lennon, MTU Crawford College of Art & Design (CCAD) and MTU Arts Office.
'Through recontextualizing old artistic modes of creation within our contemporary art practices, we uncover, revitalise and question these areas of exploration and methodology throughout our time in the studio and in workshops. This allows us to consider new perspectives as we each lead with an innate curiosity into our areas of interests.'
What is Deorudáin?
The Old Irish word Deorudáin, the title of our exhibition translates to ‘wanderers’. It represents the idea of our role as ‘wanderers’ excavating and investigating knowledge that exists in this world. It also acts as a metaphor in the context for how this word is relatively unknown; its existence buried in the archives, quietly blanketed by time but waiting to be rediscovered and reborn.
Who are we?
We are a group of students in our third year of the CCAD BA Fine Art course at MTU. We are exhibiting a collection of new work selected by curator Eamonn Maxwell.
