Liz Doherty- Cork Folk Festival Traditional Musician in Residence

Liz Doherty is an Irish fiddler based in her home County of Donegal. She is a renowned teacher and imparts what is best about Irish music - sheer fun and joy! Liz wrote her PhD thesis on Cape Breton music and she currently lectures at The University of Ulster in Derry. Liz has recorded and toured with both Nomos and The Bumblebees and has recorded two solo albums. Her personality is much like her music –– exuberant, fun, quick-witted, and full of life. Liz is the Traditional Musician in Residence at this years Cork Folk Festival.
