    The work is intended to address the perception of memory and connection to place and culture, prior to, during and after the emigrant experience.
    How the initial socialisation informs the context of the emigrant experience and how the emigrant experience contextualizes the return to native home. To explore the overall idea of a sense of place and belonging, and the loss of that security, together with alienation, confusion, disorientation aggression and claustrophobia of emigration is the area of tension I want to explore.
    There are some words that were used to guide the work; crudeness, industrious, aggressive, disconnected, communication, broken, urban, passage, memory, transatlantic, loss and reflection.
